It is the calcium salt of Undecylenic Acid.1 While Undecylenic Acid itself is a powerful fungistatic, converting it into a calcium salt significantly enhances its stability and efficacy. Research indicates that the fungicidal activity of undecylenate salts can be up to four times higher than that of the free fatty acid, making this product a premier choice for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical formulations.


1. Technical Significance

The antimicrobial power of fatty acids is directly related to their carbon chain length.

  • The “Peak 11” Effect: Studies show that antifungal properties in fatty acids increase as the chain lengthens, peaking specifically at C-11 (Undecylenic) before dropping off at C-12 (Lauric).
  • Salt vs. Acid: Calcium Undecylenate provides a slow, sustained release of the active C-11 acid in the digestive tract or on the skin. Unlike the free acid, which can be irritating to sensitive mucous membranes, the calcium salt is extremely well-tolerated, allowing for effective dosing without irritation.
